Hello iOS!

I haven't posted in so long.... Honestly, I think I forgot about this blog lol so ya, I did what I thought I wouldnt ever do.... I went iPhone! I also went back to iPad, got an iPad 2 for Christmas and I've been doing ok with them.

iOS isn't new to me but using it exclusively has been different. It's not that I'm over Android cause that is so not the case but I thought I'd give it a shot and I don't have any complaints other than the inability to customize. That, of course, isn't a big issue so ya all is good. I absolutely LOVE the battery life on this thing, I believe getting 22+ hours with 9+ hours of use is pretty top notch and there is noooo way I would have ever gotten numbers like that on my Android devices.

I do plan on picking up a Razr within the next couple weeks but I don't think I will count out on the iPhone.

As for the iPad, I find myself in the same situation I was in with my 1st Gen.... Finding it hard to really put it to use. I'm using it for social networking and movie streaming.... Umm that's boring lol I really don't want to give up on it just yet though so we'll see!

Im Back!

I've been back on my Blackberry Curve 3G for the past week and loving it! What brought me back?, the battery on my Droid Pro (work phone) just wasn't doing it, I found myself having to charge it up to 3x a day and I didn't want to shell out $60 for an extended battery (that will fatten up the device) and make it difficult to find cute cases. So I thought, well I've still got my Berry.... I'll switch back, throw on BB6 (OS6) and see what this little sucker has got!

A week later and truth is I haven't missed my Droid Pro much (granted I still have my Droid X active). This new OS on my Blackberry is very nice.... I love the "tabs" (which most people seem to hate lol), the browser is nice, I'm loving the new sounds/alerts as well. I'm not too keen on the lack of themes available for OS6, there are quite a few but MOST seem to take on an OS5-like look and I just can't understand the point in that! Anyway, I managed to find a couple (2) OS6 themes for my 9330 that work very well and I don't mind switching between the 2 at all.

This post is kind of rambly as I'm at my parents house and just thought to write this like right now so I didn't really think it out lol.... but I'll have a follow-up post (more organized) within the coming week :) oh and I will post screen caps of the themes I'm using on my 9330 at the moment as well.

Question still remains as to whether or not I will be returning to Blackberry lol.... truth is I am still waiting for something great :( I was considering picking up a Bold 9650 but I honestly just can't justify it! I guess we'll just have to wait and see....

Droid Pro Cases

My Droid Pro cases have FINALLY started arriving! There were literally like 2 when I first started looking (on eBay).... slowly but surely more and more have started popping up and I've been sitting here waiting and clicking lol!

Ok, I'm not a very "festive" person lol & not all that into Christmas (except for the gifts hehe) but I got a couple IMs asking about Christmas themes and as of right now, this is the nicest one I've seen :)

 Again, most of you know that I like a clean look when dealing with themes and this one is exactly that! I have not had a chance to play with it but I will edit this post with my thoughts and screen shots when I head over to my parents' and install this on my 8530 (mom is using it).

I've gone 100% Android....

It was bound to happen.... I told you all it would, eventually lol I didn't think the conversion would come so quickly but truth is I got tired of waiting around for OS6 (official).

 

I became the proud owner of a Motorola Droid Pro about a week ago & can already say there is no going back to Blackberry after this! The Droid Pro has Blackberry-like features (form factor & kb) but is not in any way "identical" to a Blackberry. Push notifications work flawlessly as does the device's functionality in general. 

 I have kept my Curve 3G (9330) as a back up device and my mom is currently using my 8530 so I will have access to Blackberry.... just because I am completely "Android Powered" now does not mean I have totally turned my back on Blackberry lol.... I will continue to check out themes & apps and will try my best to keep tabs on Official OS releases and so on. As soon as OS6 is made official for my 9330 I will switch back to Blackberry for a while to check it out!

One thing I can't wait for is my cases to come in lol.... there still aren't many options since the device is still pretty new but I managed to find a few pouches and 1 "girly" snap-on hard case so I'm hoping they get here soon! 

WeatherPlus for Blackberry

Last week I was on the hunt for a new weather widget for my Droid X & a friend on Twitter "teased" me about a weather app available for Blackberry that fit the precise description I had given lol.... Well good thing I'm still rockin a Berry :P Anyway, I like the app so much I wanted to take a min to share it with you guys :)

 The app is called WeatherPlus & is available in AppWorld for FREE (limited time) and has some pretty good options.... My personal fave is the option to "push to homescreen", this gives it the appearance of an Android weather widget :) You can adjust the position, font, font color, view, etc.... LOVE IT! You've also got the option to use one of apps' preloaded wallpapers or your own.

 I've included screen caps of the app running on my 9330. Enjoy!

P.S. When you install the app you must email the vendor your PIN w/ WeatherPlus as the subject so they can "unlock" the "push to homescreen" feature.

I'm a little bored and have some free time so I thought I would take the time to create sort of a "timeline" of my Droid X homescreen caps!

 Basically, this will start from like the 1st or 2nd week that I got my DX til now.... The point to this you ask? LOL to show you all just how awesome Android really is!! There have been MANY Blackberry users jumping ship and since most of my readers are Blackberry users I think this post might give you all a little taste of what you could be enjoying :P

 I've had a few of you BBM, IM, email, etc me asking how Im liking/loving my DX and also telling me that you are thinking about making the switch. Well, one of the MAIN reasons I'm so in love with it is because of the ease of customization.... we Blackberry users LOVE our themes but we also know how hard it is to find a theme that really suits our needs. Android allows you to fully customize your device get this: WITHOUT having to search and install (then later uninstall) themes! All of my screen caps are "designed by me" no themes involved lol.... just different widgets placed in different places and what not.
